Armed police raided his home because he wrote an illegal sentence on X
Berliner Zeitung reports an early-morning raid by armed police on the home of German University Professor Dr. Norbert Bolz.
He is accused of writing the illegal sentence “Germany awaken” on the social media platform X as response to an almost identically titled article by the far-leftist newspaper taz.
Among other sentences like “Everything for Germany”, writing or saying “Germany awaken” is punishable by up to 3 years in prison in Germany.
The sentence becomes legal, however, if “Germany” is replaced by any other country.
A Syrian, for example, can yell “Everything for Syria” and an Afghan can shout “Afghanistan awaken” without any legal repercussions in Germany.
